Pregnancy...did you enjoy it?

Did you enjoy pregnancy? I'm not sure if i did.

Women are brought up to believe that carrying a child is the most beautiful most precious thing in the world...and it is, however they neglect to tell you about the heartburn the headaches the swelling, not being able to sleep on your back, having to be helped off the couch or anything for that matter, not eating this that and the other thing and not to mention worrying about every little movement, pain or twinge.

My mum told me that she loved being pregnant and i couldn't help but feel a little guilty that i wasn't really enjoying it. Was this guilt warranted? Did any of you other mummas out there not enjoy being pregnant? I think this is something that not to many people speak up about for fear of being judged, i know that i didn't really voice how i was feeling.

However at the end of the day it was all worth it and my beautiful 10 pound baby was born and i couldn't imagine my life without him.

  2. My first pregnancy was a walk in the park compared to my second. I didn't have any morning sickness or funny food things with my first. I did have slight heartburn and a bad back for the first little bit and a bit of high blood pressure towards the end but I coped. The second time around was completely different. Morning sickness/nausea, bad heartburn, the thought of eating made me sick and couldn't eat a lot of things. From about 6-7 months I became extremely uncomfortable with braxton hicks starting about 4 weeks before my daughter was born. I could barely walk by this stage and found it nearly impossible to do anything (very hard when you have a 3 year old as well). But as Rylie said, at the end of it all you are handed a beautiful little bubba and you forget about the rest. I am lucky enough to have 2 healthy, gorgeous children and I wouldn't know what to do without them.

  3. Us mummas are a tough bunch aren't we. We should all be so proud of ourselves for what our bodies go through :-)
